Unleashing Your Confidence in Public Speaking

Let’s think about an internal belief.

If we use the word I am and then fill in the blanks…

If you are selling brownies, say you have discovered a recipe or you’ve created a recipe for really delicious brownies, people have said your brownies are amazing, they’re unique, and you’re going to sell them, and you’re going to talk about these brownies.

Maybe you are pitching to a group of people about having them at their event. If you are about to go and speak and the belief, I am not good enough, or I am mediocre, or I am unsure, if you really thought about that and that’s starting to come up, that’s going to shift and affect your body.

Even the way I was saying it, I just didn’t enjoy saying it. You see the energy, it was like, “I am unsure. I’m not good enough”. That’s going to come through.

You wouldn’t have the opportunity to speak or you wouldn’t feel like you could go into that opportunity if there wasn’t something about your brownies that made them extra special and something about you that made you extra special and the one to be speaking about them.

So you want to think about what feedback have you had from other people who’s tasted those brownies and said their delicious or the best brownies, or they’re really interesting, or maybe they’re flavorsome, maybe they have a unique ingredient.

Maybe they’re organic and maybe the ingredients that are used in brownies usually, you’ve got a secret ingredient. Whatever it is, you’ve got to think about what is special and unique about you, and then fill in that I am or replace that I am with a word that is useful. Then you can repeat that word over and over again.

So maybe it’s unique. “I’m unique, I’m unique. I’m unique.” Just by me saying that word makes me feel more open and confident and it just shifts my body into a place where I’m just feeling internally more confident and that is going to come across in your public speaking, on your videos or any place you have to go where you need to talk and connect with people.

Performance is just about sharing something with someone else, but you have to do the work internally first if you’re going to even think about getting on stage or getting to camera.

If you want to become a confident public speaker and really take your on camera and speaking skills to the next level, check out my other videos and actually have a look at some of the actors videos. There’s some golden gems in there that can absolutely be translated to what you do.
