3 Ways To Make The Most Of This “in-between” Season
It’s been a bit of a strange year so far, hasn’t it? If you are an actor and the momentum feels a little stalled, or the auditions are coming in slower than you’d like, I want you to know you’re not the only one.
If you are a business owner, you may have noticed things have been slower due to world events!
We are currently in that mid-spring “in-between” moment. While it’s tempting to just wait for the industry to wake up, I want to invite you to do the opposite.
What if you used this window to find your flow again?
As I recently wrote on the blog, when the work isn’t there, it’s so easy to let your confidence dip.
However, development doesn’t stop just because the phone isn’t ringing. You can build upon what you’ve already created.
Without the pressure of a “tape due tomorrow,” we actually have the space to do the deep work. We can unpick the habits that are keeping you in your head and get you back into your body.
Here are 3 actions you can take right now to get closer to where you want to be:
- Voice your vision: Reach out to one person in your life who makes you feel like you can do anything. Tell them a big career dream of yours. Ideally, this is an agent, manager, or someone who can help you get closer to it—but if you can’t think of anyone yet, start with a trusted friend!
- Prepare for the “Eventually”: Read a play or film script with a character you dream of playing. Do the full character prep. Imagine you are playing the role today. When that opportunity eventually lands, you’ll be ready. If you are a business owner, prepare a TED talk… could be useful when the time comes to actually speak to a wider audience.
- Step into your future: Journal for three pages as your “future self” who has already reached that big dream. How do you feel? Who are you with? What is your day-to-day like?
I want to help you move from “waiting” to “ready.” So when it gets busy, you aren’t scrambling—you’re grounded, sharper, and ready to make braver choices.
